‘Our Long National Nightmare Of Peace And Prosperity Is Finally Over’

Make sure to notice the date — January 17, 2001. Why is it that fake news is so much better than the real news these day? I’m not particularly bright (or psychic) but it was clear at the beginning of this administration that it would be disastrous. Of course, it’s turned out to be far, far worse than I imagined. Who could have predicted that the U.S. would invade a sovereign country with no reason (made-up reasons don’t count)? That we’d spend $2 trillion on it? That we would use the same torture techniques on our prisoners that we previously prosecuted as war crimes? That the Canadian dollar would out pace our own? That U.S. standing in the world is so diminished? Enough questions. The next president has a big job ahead of him or her. You’ve got to be a special kind of crazy to want to follow GWB.
